The Puma Socket Library
A series of extensible clients and servers for communication over TCP/IP. Includes ::XML, an XML based IPC agent and ::NTExec, a tool to allow commands to be run on and MS Windows based system.
The Future of Puma
So many ideas - so little time to implement them. Isn't that a common refrain? Nonetheless, there are so many ideas I have in my head, that I should at least pretend that they'll be implemented some day.
PUMA::SOCKET
Yes, I know - I already talked about this in a section earlier in this document, but I has to add it here 'cause I think it's rather an important part of the system that will likely be included in the 1.2 release of Puma.
ISQL : INGMAR'S COMMAND LINE SQL INTERFACE
This is a little project that I started about the same time I started Puma, but only ever half completed. It was intended as a Perl based replacement for Oracle's SQLPlus that started out of a frustration with the fact that I couldn't use the up-arrow to edit commands that I previously entered. The start of the design was intended that it not only work with Oracle, but also with MSSQL (via ODBC), PostgreSQL and MySQL. Some day I'll pick this up again and send it out to open source - perhaps as a part Puma, perhaps not.

Many thanks to Eric S. Raymond (http://tuxedo.org/~esr/), a person who I have neither met nor spoken to. I greatly appreciate his essay, "The Cathedral and The Bazaar" (http:// www.tuxedo.org/~esr/writings/cathedral-bazaar/), a must-read for any open source software developer.
